Mike (Mos Def) works at a video store owned by Mr. Fletcher (Danny Glover), a man who doesn't seem to be any hurry to change with the times. When Mr. Fletcher entrusts his store to Mike while he goes out of town, his best friend Jerry (Jack Black) accidentally erases the entire store inventory. Frantic to keep the struggling business alive, Mike and Jerry begin to create hilariously low-budget versions of the lost films.
