Roscoe Jenkins was a painfully awkward kid and the target of many jokes from his crazy, yet lovable family while growing up in the South. Now a talk-show sensation calling himself Dr. RJ Stevens (Martin Lawrence), he has made a career out of dispensing simple advice to adoring fans from his Los Angeles studio. When his parents ask him to come home for their 50th wedding anniversary, he heads back to his sleepy hometown fully intent on impressing his relatives with how much he has changed.
