Academy Award winner George Clooney directs and stars in the homage to the beloved screwball comedies of the 1930's and 1940's. In 1925, professional football is a joke, with teams across the country folding left and right. Professional football player Dodge Connelly (Clooney) will do anything to keep his team, the Duluth Bulldogs, from folding. Dodge steals Carter Ruthford (John Krasinski, TV's The Office), a Princeton college football star and war hero, for his own team and soon the Bulldogs are winning. Intrepid reporter Lexie Littleton (Academy Award winner Renee Zellweger) sets out to prove that the war hero is too good to be true.
